RICHARD JONES

Richard Jones helps technology-based companies optimize their R&D and implementation operations by creating and delivering the right mix of projects and then ensuring they run correctly. He also helps generate revenues by driving innovative ideas into profitable corporate ventures/spinouts.

Richard has led under-fire teams to success across four continents – managing or turning around major projects in industries as varied as telecoms, electronics, software, oil&gas, and medical equipment.

Companies that have drawn upon his wealth of experience (good and bad) garnered from boardroom advisor and director/CEO positions have reported as much as 75-fold returns on shareholder investement. BT, the BBC and Universal are among the organizations using products from companies he has led.

Based in London and the Middle East, Richard has a degree in electronics, a diploma in engineering, an MBA and a well-developed sense of humour. The last one is probably most important. Currently he is helping launch a next generation network in the Middle East.

His first book is called Project Management Survival, published by Kogan-Page, and is now writing a book on the management of complex programmes in R&D and technology based organisations.

Richard Jones has produced a clear, comprehensive and insightful guide to successful project management. This book should be of equal interest to those who have responsibility for significant projects and senior managers anxious to ensure the success of a major project.
